Have a look at this song about cells. Remember THE BIG CELL TEST is coming soon.
Hi young scientists. Here is a great wee website to help you draw graphs.
Graphs are pictures of the data that scientists collect during their experiments.
Next time you collect science data in Mr Mallon`s lab you can use this website to make your graph.
Professor Brian Cox, he of the Wonders of the Universe Fame teams up with Dara O`Briain for three nights of stargazing on BBC Two starting on Monday 3rd of January at 8pm.
Stargazing is a fantastic hobby to get involved in during the coming year. The constellations that make up the night sky can be easily learned and become signposts to other great stars in the night sky.
It`s that time of year again! Mr Mallon sets a competition for the first year pupils to come up with what a scientist would like to find in his or her stocking on Christmas morning.
Here are some entries.
Happy Christmas from Mr Mallon.
Create your own video slideshow at animoto.com.
The winner will be revealed tomorrow and the prize will be given after Christmas.
Hi second year scientists. Try out this fun crossword about the heat words you should know.
Have some fun!
Hi second year scientists! Have a go at this heat topic test.
My first year class were given a task to adopt a famous scientist at the beginning of the session.
They were told to collect some information, write it out themselves and make a podcast to share with students around the world.
Click on the picture below to hear their speeches.
A big thing about being a scientist is that you need to communicate.
Mr Mallon`s second year science class used their mobile phones to take pictures of cells.
Using their magnifying capability we examined the cells in detail and discovered each cell has a nucleus.
Andrew Jackson brought in some pond water which was teaming with microscopic life. Check out the amazing picture of a midge larvae captured in class. Awesome picture.
Thanks to Andrew Jackson for providing the pond water.
PS Mobile phones in class can be a powerful tool when used appropriately, well done S2.
Hi First Year scientists!
