Convection Experiment with first year.

Posted by Mr Mallon on October 29, 2008

In our science class at St. Andrew`s we made a special convection current detector. To be honest it was really just a pencil with a bit of tissue paper on the end of it but it did show hot air rising above the hot flame of the bunsen burner.
Convection is a process where heat energy is carried to other areas of a room. Convection can only occur where there is a difference in temperature and only occurs in either liquids or gases.
